The Community has SpokenFrom time-to-time I’ll be posting links to helpful Desire2Learn resources that I stumble across on the Internets.

Here are three newly discovered posts from the greater community of Desire2Learn users:

1. From UW Milwaukee Learning Technology Center:

FAQ: How do I create a check+, check, check- system for discussion and drop the two lowest scores in the grades area of D2L?

“Creating a check+, check, check- grading system for a discussion and dropping the two lowest discussion scores is a bit more complex than creating ordinary grade items. It will require three major steps.”

They have lots of other good stuff at their new site where they are “Supporting instructors’ use of learning technologies”

2. From DePaul University FITS (Faculty Instructional Technology Services)

Mastering D2L Checklists

“In FITS we are big proponents of using the Checklist feature in D2L. Using Checklists gives students an opportunity for self-assessment and eases the pressure on the instructor to answer “when is XYZ due” questions.”

They typically post several times a month on their Instructional Design and Development blog.

3. From University of Wisconsin – Green Bay Cofrin Library:

What is an Embedded Librarian?

“Find out how librarians at Cofrin Library can assist students with their research needs right from their D2L courses!” Video shown below.
